About: Remote Energy is a 501c3 for-impact organization that uses solar energy as an enabling technology to improve the lives of people in marginalized communities in the Pacific Northwest and worldwide. We develop and implement customized, solar-electric curriculum, education programs, and hands-on training opportunities to enable individuals from underserved and underrepresented populations join the renewable energy workforce.

Laura brings twenty years of instructional design and solar workforce development experience, with a specialized focus on the design and installation of solar electric systems. She has developed comprehensive curriculum packages, textbooks, and training programs spanning multi-week technical workforce training, professional development for practicing PV professionals, and community-based knowledge sharing for non-technical audiences. Laura serves as a lead instructor delivering solar workforce and train-the-trainer programs for colleges, tribes, nonprofits, and community-based organizations across the United States and East Africa. She is highly skilled at distilling complex technical concepts into clear, accessible, and engaging content, using visual tools and graphics to enhance learning and comprehension.
